Sejong University has been ranked 51st in Asia and 10th nationally in the Asia University Rankings 2025 released by Times Higher Education (THE), a prestigious university evaluation agency based in the United Kingdom.

This year’s THE Asia University Rankings evaluated 853 universities across 35 Asian countries based on 13 indicators grouped into five categories: research quality (30%), research environment (28%), teaching environment (24.5%), industry income (10%), and international outlook (7.5%).

Among these, Sejong University achieved an outstanding score of 93.5 in “research quality,” ranking 1st among Korean universities and 10th among Asian institutions. This category evaluates citation impact, research strength, research excellence, and research influence—highlighting Sejong’s world-class research performance and scholarly impact. The university also scored highly in the “industry income” category, which assesses income from industry and patents, receiving a score of 83.2.

Sejong University’s research excellence was further demonstrated in the recently announced 2024 Leiden Ranking, where it was ranked 1st in Korea for the second consecutive year. Based on the quality of published papers, this ranking further solidifies Sejong University’s status as the nation’s top research institution.
