    A Base Camp for Your Dreams: Student Success Exam Support Center  The Student Success Exam Support Center of Sejong University helps students preparing for a variety of exams, which include civil service exams and professional certifications, by focusing on their studies. The existing system for supporting the exam preparation class, which was separately operated, was integrated after the establishment of the center, and this led to changes in the way students are supported. We heard that the key support services and future direction of the Student Success Exam Support Center serves as a solid base camp for the students. Please describe the Student Success Exam Support Center.The Student Success Exam Support Center is an integrated support organization that is designed to help students who are preparing for exams, such as civil service exams and professional certifications stay on the right track and achieve their goals. Our core values go beyond simply just increasing the number of successful candidates. They involve supporting the students in order to complete the long exam process and foster their intellectual and mental growth without giving up or being discouraged.What exam preparation classes are currently in operation and how can candidates apply? We currently operate classes, such as the public enterprise preparation class, the civil service exam preparation class, the law school preparation class, the patent attorney preparation class, the teacher certification exam preparation class, the content platform enterprise preparation class, and the CPA and tax accountant exam preparation class, which reflect the career needs of the students and the latest trends.. Recruitment notices are posted on the Recruitment board on the campus website before the start of each semester. Applicants should submit their application forms and study plans, and they may be selected through document screening and interviews. A written exam may also be required depending on the characteristics of the class.What kind of support is available to students in these exam preparation classes?The dedicated study spaces, reading rooms, and designated individual seats are provided in order to ensure that students do not feel spatial constraint. Support within the budget for expenses that are  necessary for exam preparation, such as tuition for online lectures, costs for purchasing exam preparation books or textbooks, and mock exams are available. Exams are a long-term challenge, and the financial burden is relatively high. As a result, we expect that this support would help students focus on their studies. In addition, we intend to provide practical support, such as expert lectures and group mentoring sessions with stories from individuals who passed the examinations.  What are the changes in the operation of the exam preparation class before and after the center was established?There were disparities in the past in administrative and financial support when exam preparation classes were assigned to various departments and academic advisors, and there were difficulties with managing students. An integrated management system was put in place since the establishment of the Center, and the budget execution is now more transparent and efficient. Student-focused support and management have above all become possible. The suggestions of the students can now be promptly addressed, and an environment where both study and rest are available has also been created that is centered around this building.What are the future operational goals of the Student Success Exam Support Center?Our short-term goal is to strengthen the substance of 7 exam preparation classes that are currently in operation as well as increase the pass rates for our students in civil service exams and professional certifications. Our long-term term goal is to ensure that students can naturally come to think of the Student Success Exam Support Center when they begin preparing for exams. We aim to build a systematic learning infrastructure that supports students from the first step of exam preparation to their final success with the exam.Is there anything that you would like to say to the students?I know very well that studying for exams is a long, lonely, and exhausting battle. We want to be both a trend setter and a base camp that is on the students side, so they do not walk this path by themselves. The exam preparation class is not for students who have already accomplished passing the exams. Even a student who has just taken their first steps is eligible if they have passion and determination. All members of the center and the Career Development Office will wholeheartedly support and encourage the students, so they achieve success with the exams. I hope you will grow into Sejong students who rely on colleagues who are pursuing the same goal and are not afraid of failure.

    Is It Okay to Use AI for Your Class Assignments? AI White Paper for the Sejongian.▲ Professor Oh-young Song, Director of the AX Innovation InstituteSejong University's Office of Educational Innovation and the AX Innovation Institute jointly developed the 2026 AI Usage Guidelines, which the faculty and students should both follow in line with the development of generative AI developments. What are the academic integrity and unique human values that universities should keep amid the rapid proliferation of generative AI? We met and discussed them in detail with Professor Oh-young Song, who is the Director of the AX Innovation Institute. Professor Song led the planning and writing of these guidelines. These guidelines also cover the autonomous AI agents. What changes in AI technology are  reflected in these guidelines?I had a lot on my mind while I watched the speed of AI technology development when many universities were introducing the AI guidelines. I noticed a trend around that time where the paradigm was expanding toward AI agents. Conventional AI works like a teaching assistant through, which we can ask questions and receive answers from, so we can take the entire assignment to the autonomous agents. They write code and complete reports on their own without intervention of users. I preemptively included the guidance standards in these guidelines by judging that the impact of this technology would be far greater.What are the core values that you intend to convey to members of Sejong University through these guidelines?I intended to ease the vague fear or uncertainty that members feel about AI. Powerful technologies naturally make us wonder. What is left for humans to do? However, the use of AI is inevitable, and it should be accepted and actively and wisely used. The key lies with correctly recognizing AI as being a competent partner and copilot. The message is to watch out for is a situation where AI becomes a dominant role and humans fall into a supporting role, which means that we should not lose our sense of agency.What specifically does the phrase Human-in-the-Loop mean?It means that we should not leave all decision-making completely to artificial intelligence. AI is fast, but there is a potential for hallucinations. No matter how sophisticated the answer is that AI provides, the responsibility for the final review, judgment, and approval should be entirely borne by humans. Students should not hide behind machines. If a trainer lifts the weights for you while you exercise, will your muscles develop? Your muscles will of course not develop. The same applies to the process of acquiring knowledge. It only becomes a long-term competency when it is accompanied by the painful process of inquiry and exploration that places an appropriate load on the brain. The failure to explain the logic and grounds of an individual’s work themselves is nothing more than a confession that the learning process was neglected.What is the proper method to credit sources in order to avoid accidental or unintended plagiarism disputes? It is a basic courtesy that is required in order to maintain academic transparency. It’s not enough to vaguely state that you utilized AI. You must clearly and specifically record what tools were used. The timing of their use is also important, so you must disclose the specific method of use, such as whether it was used during the brainstorming stage or for simple spelling corrections.Why is it dangerous to enter undisclosed data or personal information into an AI input field? It is easy to judge if you regard AI as being an unidentified stranger. No one would show their resident registration number or credit cards to an unverified person. The data that is entered can also leak externally, which could be a channel for information leakage. This is why major global companies strictly control internal AI uploads. You should pay particular attention when you enter internal data or personally identifiable information.What are some effective tips in order to utilize AI that students can put into practice?Unilateral and outsourced prompting may lead to a disconnection with knowledge. It is required to engage in dialogue with AI after assigning specific roles and situational contexts. A ping-pong style dialogue is necessary, which is where we identify errors as well as modify and supplement questions as opposed to blindly trusting the responses. We must ensure that we are appropriately experiencing intellectual tension  during this process as well as refining our thinking.What is the unique domain that is exclusive to the students of Sejong University that AI cannot infringe upon?The answer can be found in the founding spirit of King Sejong the Great, and it is the roots of Sejong University, which are the spirit of independence, pragmatism, and love for the people.     The Era of the KOSPI Passing 8,000: Personal Financing Methods for College Students Disclosed by the Sejong Investment Scholars Club (SISC)The KOSPI index passed the 8,000 point mark for the first time in history, so the capital market is attracting a lot of attention. The enthusiasm of college students about investing in the real economy and the stock market is also rising amidst the continuation of the bull market. We met members of the central investment club from the university, which is called the Sejong Investment Scholars club, and we listened to their advice about personal financing for college students.Please describe the Sejong Investment Scholars Club.The Sejong Investment Scholars Club is an on-campus financial investment club that is affiliated with the University Student Investment Club (UIC), which was established in 2004. The purpose of the Sejong Investment Scholars Club (SISC) is to help students make healthy and sound investments, because investments have presently become essential due to increased life expectancy and lower deposit interest rates. About 70 members are currently participating in the activities of the club in several teams, such as the Macro, Securities, Trading, Asset Management, and IT, and each team exchanges analytical results through individual sessions every week.  SISC holds the Campus Mock Investment Competition each year. What is the goal of the competition?We host the mock investment competition every semester in collaboration with Kiwoom Securities. Any Sejong University student is eligible to participate. Our goal is to help students who find investments difficult and vague learn investment theories through the mock competition and eventually challenge themselves with live trading.I heard that SISC is actually managing the fund. What is the core investment strategy of the fund that is currently in operation?The internal fund of the club, which is currently in operation, was established with out-of-pocket cash from stakeholders, and it achieved a high return of 19.15% as of March–April 2026. I believe the key to this success is due to the top-down approach that analyzes macroeconomic trends in order to determine the market direction, and the systematic collaboration system.▲ A regular General Sharing Session of the Campus Central Investment Club, which is called the Sejong Investment Scholars Club. First, the Asset Management Team analyzes stocks based on earnings, valuations, and future growth potential once the Macro Team analyzes interest rates and industry trends and selects promising sectors. The items that are to be included in the final portfolio are subsequently determined via a volatility analysis by the Risk Management Team and discussions among the members. We do not stop at simply selecting good companies. We balance between profitability and stability by considering what role this type of item would play in the portfolio.Many students are recently blindly rushing into investments due to the feat of missing out (FOMO). What advice would you give them?The existing investment principles seem meaningless in an unprecedented bull market like these, so I fully understand the feeling of impatience. However, the moment you are swept up by those around you and blindly jump in, investment turns into the most dangerous form of speculation. I should be able to clearly understand the reasons myself why the stocks that I bought fell in order to decide whether to hold on or cut my losses.There are always rise of correction signals no matter how unpredictable and chaotic the market is, so I recommend that you to set aside impatience for a while and first establish your own firm standards in order to study the market and distinguishing opportunity from risk.Lastly, is there anything you’d like to say to students who are considering investing?I was also at a loss about what stocks to buy or what sectors to invest in when I first entered university, even though I wanted to invest in the stock market. However, I developed my own investment philosophy through the process of learning the basics, studying firsthand, and gaining experience at the Sejong Investment Scholars Club. If you start investing, which is even with a small amount of money, you will naturally begin to analyze and study the market. You will also develop your own standards through the process of experiencing both failures and successes. Investment is not far away. I encourage you to have the courage to take the first step as opposed to trying to make perfect preparations.

What kinds of activities are available?Experiential programs that allow students to engage directly with Korean culture are an essential part of the institute’s educational curriculum. The institute regularly offers activities such as hanbok experiences, traditional crafts, Korean cooking classes, K-pop and traditional music experiences, and visits to major cultural and historical sites. Through these hands-on programs, learners can apply the language skills acquired in the classroom to real-life situations, naturally deepening their understanding of Korean society and culture.What distinguishes the Sejong Language Center from other language education institutions?The Sejong Language Center takes pride in the specialized expertise and systematic support that come with being a university-affiliated institution.Through close collaboration among its professional instructors, the institute strives to maximize student achievement. A willingness to practice without fear of making mistakes is the most powerful driving force behind meaningful improvement in Korean-language proficiency.
