Sejong University Ranks in the Top 400 of the 2025 ARWU World University Rankings

Sejong University has climbed 100 places in the 2025 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), rising from the 501–600 range last year to the 401–500 range.
This year, more than 2,500 universities worldwide were evaluated, with only 12 Korean universities making it into the global top 500. Sejong University placed joint 10th in Korea, following major institutions such as Seoul National University and Yonsei University, while Harvard University in the United States claimed the top spot globally.
ARWU, organized annually since 2003 by Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China, assesses institutions based on the percentage scores relative to the highest performer in each indicator. Key evaluation criteria include Nobel Prize and Fields Medal achievements, the number of highly cited researchers, publications in Nature and Science, SCI/SSCI journal articles, and per capita academic performance.
Sejong University plans to further strengthen its research capabilities and academic growth to enhance its international reputation.
