Professor Graziano Rossi of the Department of Physics and Astronomy Elected Founding President of the Association of Italian Researchers and Scholars in South Korea

Professor Graziano Rossi of the Department of Physics and Astronomy has been elected as the founding president of the Association of Italian Researchers and Scholars in South Korea (AIRSSK), a newly established organization.
AIRSSK is an official body founded in cooperation with the Italian Embassy in South Korea to address the growing number of Italian researchers in Korea and the increasing demand for collaboration. Its main objectives are to build a nationwide network of Italian researchers in Korea, promote research innovation through collaboration with Korean research institutions and Italian universities, and support the professional development of scholars and researchers.
The election took place at the AIRSSK inaugural general assembly held on October 28 at the Italian Embassy in Seoul. Italian researchers from various fields attended, and the association’s governance structure was confirmed. The executive board consists of President Graziano Rossi, Vice President Edoardo Magnone (Professor at Dongguk University), and Secretary-General Fabio Donati (Professor at Ewha Womans University). Emilia Gatto, Ambassador of Italy to South Korea, serves as an honorary member.
The news has drawn international attention and was featured on official channels of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAECI).
Professor Rossi stated, “The launch of AIRSSK is an important starting point for expanding bilateral research cooperation. I will work to further promote Sejong University’s research strengths to leading Italian universities and research institutes, and to deepen academic exchange between the two countries.”
